‘He has killed me o’ – What Super Eagles star said after being tackled in La Liga

Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo played for 90 minutes for Leganes as they held Valencia to a 1-1 draw in a La Liga fixture on Sunday, but the highlight of the Nigeria international’s outing has actually come from a post-match event.

Omeruo, 25, played in the center of a three-man backline for Leganes in their 3-4-1-2 formation and did well enough to ensure the former Spanish champions did not run away with a win, having taken a 21st minute lead via captain Dani Parejo.

However, the highlight of the game came off the pitch for the Nigerian, who shared a picture on his Facebook page of himself being tackled by Valencia striker, Maxi Gomez. In the photo, Omeruo appeared to be in some sort of pain, as it seemed he was been fouled by the Valencia attacker.

In a mixture of the Igbo and English languages, he then captioned the picture: “Ogbuom òò (meaning ‘he has killed me’ in English).”

He then further wrote, “We go again on Wednesday with a little more effort. Great point away to Valencia #vamosleganes #omeruo”

Meanwhile, another Super Eagles defender, Chidozie Awaziem came off the bench in the 57th minute for Leganes, as Oscar’s 35th minute strike cancelled Valencia’s lead and ensured the Nigerians went home with a point.
