Arsenal manager Unai Emery has revealed his starting line-up for the London derby against Chelsea, with the club’s highest paid player Mesut Ozil named on the bench alongside Super Eagles star, Alex Iwobi. In a surprise move, Aaron Ramsey has been named among a front three alongside Alexandre Lacazette and top scorer, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the Gunners look to return to fifth place and close the gap on the Blues.
Ramsey is reported to have signed a pre-contract agreement with Serie A leaders Juventus in a deal that is expected to see the Welsh international earn up to 170,000 euros per week. The midfielder will be leaving the club after a decade at the north London club, having initially been close to agreeing a deal with the Gunners only to see the deal withdrawn at the last minute and being told he would be allowed to leave the club for free at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Ozil returns to the matchday squad amid controversy he has fallen out of favour with Emery and is being considered to be offloaded by the club in order to free up enough resources to bring in new players. Arsenal is linked with Barcelona midfielder, Denis Suarez, as well as Nicolas Pepe of Lille and, more recently, Hirving Lozano of PSV Eindhoven. The Mexican is reportedly also wanted by Napoli and Chelsea.
