Nigerian striker Brown Ideye is set to join a European club on loan from his Chinese Super League team, Tianjin TEDA, following the opening of the January transfer window. The Super Eagles forward’s last sojourn in Europe was with La Liga side Malaga on a short-term deal from Tianjin TEDA in a spell which saw him score one goal in 13 league appearances.
“Yea I am considering some offers at the moment but I will love to keep them under wrap at the moment until all is finalized,” Ideye revealed at the maiden edition of the Complete Sports Celebrity WorkOut event. Ideye added: “I have been keeping myself fit for this window and hopefully we will reach an agreement in the coming days.”
The former West Bromwich Albion, Olympiacos and Sochaux striker also revealed that will prefer a move to the German Bundesliga. “The Bundesliga is one league I will love to play in before I retire. That could happen pretty soon you never know. I have played in five European leagues and the experience I will love to have again.”
30-year-old Ideye has one year left on his current deal with his Tianjin TEDA which has another Super Eagles star, John Obi Mikel, in its first team squad. Mikel, who has not featured for Nigeria following the 2018 FIFA World Cup, is the vice captain of the Chinese club.
