Bayern Munich are closing in on signing highly rated Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Bundesliga champions are hoping to seal a move for the 18-year-old in January.

The Englishman has 18 months left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge but is stalling on signing an extension due to his lack of first-team opportunities.

Hudson-Odoi has watched fellow English youngster Jadon Sancho flourish since swapping the Premier League for Germany and is now tempted to follow in his footsteps.

Barcelona, Juventus and Arsenal are also interested in the Under-17 World Cup but Bayern are leading the chase, according to The Sun.

The German giants missed out on Sancho and don’t want to make the same mistake again with a player that they believe could be a long-term successor to wing duo Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.

The Blues are unwilling to sell the homegrown starlet and any potential deal would require a significant transfer fee.
