Barcelona Legend Andres Iniesta has accused the Manchester United Coach Jose Mourinho of creating an unpleasant atmosphere during his time in Spain. Jose Mourinho was the manager of Real Madrid between 2010-2013. The duo of Mourinho and Pep Guardiola had a number of quarrels when the latter was still the coach at Barcelona. And Andres Iniesta has said the United manager was solely to blame for that when quizzed on the subject.

The rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid is nothing new for every football fan, as the match often prompted ugly scenes when both teams meet. “You don’t have to be for Barcelona or Real Madrid to know that the situation was unpleasant and the key component in that story was Mourinho. Whoever doesn’t want to see that, is radical. You didn’t see the rivalry that always existed before, it went beyond that, you saw hate. That atmosphere developed and it was unbearable. The Barca-Madrid tension caused by Mourinho did much damage to the national team [Spain] and the team-mates,” Iniesta said.

Mourinho is still under intense pressure at Manchester United after a dreadful start to the 2018-19 campaign. The Red Devils sit seventh on the Premier League table, 14 points adrift league leaders Manchester City.
