A former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has just made a startling revelation on his Twitter page.

He openly confessed his admiration for the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), otherwise known as Shi’ites even saying that the only reason why he was not a member of the religious group was that he was a currently a Christian.

He said, “If I was not a Christian, I’d have been a Shiite. Not because I believe in their version of Islam. But because I find their faith so admirable. Their resilience in standing for what they believe in even in the face of death is worthy of RESPECT!”

He was however attacked by one of his followers who said nothing was admirable about the Shi’ites due to to their religious fanaticism.

In a related story on Monday, Reno Omokri had blasted the Sultan of Sokoto for condemning Governor Wike of Rivers State for allegedly demolishing a mosque in Rivers State. He said the monarch had criticized Wike falsely because the Governor had earlier declared Rivers State to be a Christian State.
