Following mixed reactions that have trailed the allegations of sexual assault on female members by the Pastor of popular Abuja church, The Commonwealth of Zion Assembly COZA, a social media user has shed more light on the popular religious phrase – Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm.

After Singer Timi Dakolo took to his Instagram handle to expose Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo who is the founder of the church for being a sexual predator; while some have criticized him heavily, others have also come to his defense.

Many of the people defending him referenced the phrase “Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm” asking that the Man of God be left for God alone to judge.

But reacting, a social commentator, Japheth Joshua Omojuwa, popularly known as JJ Omojuwa explained that Christian clergies have fraudulently exploited that verse of the bible.

“Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm” is the immunity that never was. It’s one of the greatest scams around. Always do your best to read the verses that precede some of these popular verses. And the verses after that. No verse stands alone. The Bible is a thread.

According him the verse that was taken from the book of Psalm 105:15, was in fact not meant for pastors alone, but for all Christians.

He went further to explained that if one read from verse 1 to 15 of the entire chapter, it wouldn’t be hard to understand that the message wasn’t just referring to the clergies but the entire Christian faithful.

Read Psalm 105. Start from verse 1. By the time you get to the 15th verse that says “touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm,” you would see that verse refers to the people of Israel. By New Testament evolution, that would be ALL Christians, not just “Pastors.”
