Popular Market Shut Down Over Bomb Threat
The police mammy market, one of the hottest drinking joints in Damaturu, Yobe State has been closed down over threats of bomb attacks by Boko Haram terrorists.
The closure of the market, according to a security source, was linked to the wave of attacks of the terrorists on drinking joints with two separate incidents at Giedam and Gashua which claimed over 10 persons.
The Damaturu police mammy market is located inside the Police Area Command Damaturu.
Our correspondent, who visited the market, confirms all shops were under lock and key, contrary to the booming area of social nightlife in Damaturu, the state capital.
Tinubu Absent As Buhari Host APC Chieftains To Break Ramadan Fast
The former Lagos governor and national leader of the All progressives Congress, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu was noticeably absent as the President hosted some APC chieftains to an Iftar fast-breaking ceremony scheduled to hold today in Aso rock.
As reported earlier, the president had invited several chieftains of the All progressives Congress to break the Ramadan fast with him this evening.
However, the APC national leader and a presidential aspirant of the party, Asiwaju Tinubu had instead jetted out to Saudi Arabia for the lesser Hajj.
As seen in photos obtained on social media, Asiwaju touched down in Medina this morning and will be in Mecca later today
He was seen in the midst of well-wishers and acquaintances.
The APC Presidential aspirant was spotted alongside some party chieftains, including Nuhu Ribadu, pioneer Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Recall the first lady, Dr. Aisha Buhari had earlier invited the Presidential aspirants across party lines to an Iftar dinner last week. The APC national leader was present at the dinner with the first lady but had to travel to Mecca for the lesser hajj today.
