Katsina and Daura Emirates councils in Katsina State have suspended public activities for the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir, citing security reasons.

Activities affected are public display by horse riders (Durbar) at the palace of the Emir of Katsina, Dr. Abdulmumin Usman; and that of the Emir of Daura, Faruk Umar.

The two emirate councils, however, implored residents in the two councils to use the Sallah period in offering prayers for peace in the state and in the country.

In May, the Emir of Daura had also suspended activities marking the end of the Ramadan fast in the emirate council, also for security reasons.

The royal father rather directed district heads to join the people in their domains to pray for peace in Nigeria.

Concerning the latest decision, sources revealed that the step was in connection with current security situation in the state.

The spokesman for the Katsina Emirate Council, Iro Bindawa, confirmed the development on Wednesday.

He said, “Yes, the Emirate council has suspended activities concerning Durbar during the Sallah, but his Eminence has implored residents to seize the Sallah period in offering prayers for the state and for Nigeria.”

The decision of the Daura Emirate council on the suspension of public activities during the Sallah was contained in a letter addressed to the Emirate council members and the Emir’s advisers.

The letter was dated 13, July 2021 and signed by Danejin Daura, Abdulmumini Salihu, on behalf of the secretary of the council.

The statement further revealed that special prayers should be offered for sustainable peace in the state immediately after the Eid prayers on Sallah day.

The Emirate council spokesman, Usman Ibrahim, also confirmed the development. He said, “The circular is already in the public domain.”

https://www.naijanews.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Late-TB-Joshua-and-his-wife.jpg

It appears all is not well in the Synagogue Church of All Nations, as stakeholders of the church took a U-turn debunking the news that Mrs Evelyn will be taking over the affairs of the church after her husband.
Naija News earlier reports that the wife of the late founder of SCOAN has been chosen to take over the affairs of the church.

The platform noted that elders of the church met and declared Evelyn the successor to the televangelist.

This comes after late Pastor TB Joshua died on Saturday, June 5, 2021, days before his 58th birthday.

However just a few days before the burial week, the stakeholders of the church debunked the news that Mrs Evelyn will be taking over the affairs of the church.

According to Dr Gary Tonge Freng, who spoke on behalf of the church, claimed no one has been appointed to lead the affairs of the church at the moment. On if there is someone in the church to take over the miracles performed by the late tele-evangelist, Freng said that the decision is a spiritual matter and not an administrative one.

“It’s not about machinery. It is about suitable people, and it’s about the move of the Holy Spirit. So there is simply no administrative answer to the question because it is not an administrative issue”,he told City People.

The decision of who will assume the role of General Overseer, according to another source will be a unanimous decision of a cabal within the church referred to as the 5 wise men.

Nigeria Air Force Denies Reports Its Airstrike Killed Woman And Four Children In Zamfara
https://alexis.lindaikejisblog.com/photos/shares/60eee9e011827.jpg

he Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has denied reports that its airstrikes killed a woman and four kids in Zamfara State.

Multiple media reports claimed that an aircraft belonging to the Nigerian Air Force was targeting bandits at the expansive Sububu Forest located between Shinkafi and Maradun Local Governments in the state when the woman and the four kids were killed on Monday, July 12.

Denying the report, the director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, said nothing of such happened. According to him, such can only happen if those killed were residing with the bandits in the forest. The spokesman said the airstrikes were executed in Sububu forest and not close to any village and wondered why such allegations will emerge.

Speaking to newsmen, Gabkwet said;

“Good morning all. I feel its important I address this report. I just got off the phone with Alhaji Mohammad Ibrahim, the Director of Security, Ministry of Internal Security, Zamfara State who confirmed the happiness of the State Government over the precise nature of the strike by NAF jet.

I am also aware that the State Governor has called our Commanders on ground to commend the NAF.

A local contractor in the general area also confirmed the attack and its devastating effect on the bandits. Till now, the remnants of the bandits are evacuating and departing from the Sububu Forest general area.

Now, the strike was in Sububu Forest and not anywhere close to any village. So stories of NAF hitting any target outside the Forest is false. Secondly, on the issue of accidental kills, I find it hard to believe except if those accidentally killed were residing in the forest. I can only continue to probe further.”
