Herdsmen Invade South West, Destroy Farms, Prominent Nigerian Dead, Buhari Mourns

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, on Wednesday said some herdsmen attacked its operatives on a farm at Osi Community, in Akure North Local Government Area of the state, while the operatives were trying to settle a rift between them and the farmers in the community.

The operatives of the agency were said to have moved to the community, following a distress call from the farmers that cows had destroyed their farms in the area.

The state Commander of Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, who disclosed this to journalists in Akure, the state capital, however, said one of the herdsmen was arrested with dangerous weapons while 16 cows were seized by the operatives.

Sani Idris Is Dead, President Buhari Mourns

The Former Pro-Chancellor and chairman of council, University of Agriculture, Abeokuta(FUNAAB), Alhaji Sani Bagiwa Idris is dead.

President Muhammadu Buhari mourned the passing of Idris on Wednesday. A chemist by training, Alhaji Idris served the Katsina State Government at various times as Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Special Duties and Higher Education.

At the Federal level, he equally served as Interim Administrator, National Primary Education, where he left a strong imprint as an advocate of Universal Basic Education, which provides free primary and secondary education for all.

Two People Suffer ‘Allergic Reaction’ To UK COVID-19 Vaccine

People with significant allergic reactions have been warned against receiving the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, after two people suffered allergic reactions to it.

According to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)– the independent watchdog responsible for approving vaccines for use in this country – two NHS staff who received the coronavirus jab on its first day of use suffered adverse effects, the pair are now recovering.

The NHS website states that such allergic reactions are incredibly rare and if they do occur they usually happen within minutes.

The hospital or GP staff administering the vaccine will be trained to deal with allergic reactions and treat them immediately.

President Buhari Blasts CNN, Says Their Coverage Of #EndSARS Protest Was Disgusting

President Muhammadu Buhari says he was left disgusted with the coverage of the #EndSARS protests by foreign media organisations, including the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and America’s Cable News Network (CNN).

The #EndSARS protesters called for a scrapping of the notorious police unit, SARS (Special Anti-Robbery Squad), widespread police reforms and for an end to decades of police brutality and human rights abuses by law enforcement.

The protests were staged nationwide and in the diaspora in the early days of October, and were suppressed in Nigeria by armed soldiers and police officers who shot into a crowd of peaceful protesters at the Lekki toll gate on October 20, 2020.

JoPearl, in a new post said that she is surprised by the fact that Burna Boy’s current girlfriend Stefflon Don slid into her DM requesting for more clarifications concerning the recent cheating scandal.

Recall that Stefflon Don also recently insinuated that JoPearl’s alleged romance with her boyfriend was a “Nollywood” drama.

‘I’m Hustling For My Wedding’, Says Drug Trafficker Caught In Abuja Airport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered two new methods drug traffickers now adopt to evade the prying eyes of law enforcement personnel and this had led to the seizure of 14.4kg of cocaine.

In a statement, Mr Jonah Achema, NDLEA spokesman said that the new methods were uncovered in two separate operations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Special Area Command, Abuja.

Achema said that two suspects were arrested in connection with the seizures at the airport, noting that both suspects were male.

Reverse Ban On School Whatsapp Groups, Serap Tells Katsina Gov, Masari

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged Governor Aminu Masari to reverse the ban on school WhatsApp groups and the use of social media in the state.

SERAP urged the governor to reverse the ban which it says will have a disproportionate impact on the fundamental rights of everyone in the state.

The group in a statement issued on Wednesday threatened legal action against the ban which it labelled illegal and unconstitutional.
