Buhari mourns Abuja Islamic cleric
President Muhammadu Buhari has mourned Imam Abduljalil Dabo, the Chief Imam of the Uthman Bin Affan Islamic Centre, Abuja.
In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, the President described the late Imam as a bold and courageous cleric, who was always speaking truth to power.
“President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday joined thousands of Muslims in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, in mourning the demise of Imam Abduljalil Dabo, the Chief Imam of the Uthman Bin Affan Islamic Centre, located at opposite Banex/Emab plazas, Wuse 2, Abuja.
“In a message to the family and the followers of the late Islamic leader, President Buhari, who was represented at the funeral by Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, described the deceased Imam Dabo as a rare leader, bold and courageous enough to say the truth to those in power.
Quoting President Buhari, the statement said “the people of the FCT have lost a teacher and guide, and Muslim in the country a leader bestowed with unique qualities and strength. We pray to Allah to reward his good deed.”

BREAKING: Northern governors call for censorship of social media
Governors of northern states have called for the censorship of social media to “avoid the spread of fake news”.
At a meeting in Kaduna on Monday, the governors said the effect of uncontrolled social media is devastating.
They also condemned the “subversive” actions of some #EndSARS protesters, saying some people took advantage of peaceful protest to push their “separative agenda”.

‘Buhari may end up without legacy both as Head of State and President’ – Pastor Bakare
Founder of the Citadel Global Church, Tunde Bakare, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari may end up not leaving any legacy behind after ruling Nigeria as a military and democratically elected President.
Bakare, Buhari’s running mate for the 2011 presidential election, charged the President to work hard on the legacy that would outlive him.
The cleric said though Buhari still has enough time to rewrite his name on the sands of time, he is surrounded by a group of bad councillors.
Pastor Bakare, however, noted that said Buhari can make a difference only if God delivers him from the “bad counsels” and “bad counsellors” around him.
He alleged that bad advisers have prevented the President from seeing and acting on the realities in Nigerian streets.

VIDEO: Tanko Yakasai calls for the arrest of Catholic Bishop of Nsukka, Godfrey Igwebuike
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s media aide, Salihu Tanko Yakasai a.k.a Dawisu has called for the arrest of Catholic Bishop of Nsukka, Godfrey Igwebuike Onah over a viral sermon he claimed was inciting violence.
Onah had decried an alleged discrimination in handling of security cases in the north and in the south. He backed up this claim by recounting the clash between IPOB members and DSS operatives in Enugu state.
The Catholic bishop also alleged that mosques are springing up in the east, while it is allegedly difficult to get lands to build churches in some states and the northern region of the country.
Reacting to the cleric’s comment, Dawisu called on security operatives to arrest the Catholic bishop. He stated that one cannot use a place of worship be it Mosque or a Church and incite violence.
Dawisu tweeted;

Police nab ex-Minister’s son over alleged robbery at Bureau De Change
A former minister’s son is now in Police custody following his arrest for an alleged robbery attempt at an Abuja Bureau De Change.
The suspect allegedly attacked the BDC last week.
He is in detention pending the conclusion of investigation.
The Nation gathered that the suspect’s father is a former Minister from Benue State.
A top source, who spoke in confidence, said: “The former Minister’s son allegedly stormed a Bureau De Change in Abuja last week with a locally made rifle in order to haul some cash. He came to perpetrate the act in one of his father’s cars.
“But while allegedly robbing the BDC, he was caught by vigilant forex marketers and beaten to a pulp before being handed over to the police. The angry mob also smashed his father’s car which he used for the ‘operation’.
”Preliminary findings have confirmed that the suspect, who is an officer with a Federal agency in Abuja, is used to free money. He is noted for an extravagant lifestyle.

Pastor Funke Adejumo has said that any woman whose husband’s life does not appreciate after marriage is a witch.
The clergy made this known while delivering a sermon to a congregation mostly populated by women.
She said:
“If your husband’s life does not appreciate after marriage, you’re a witch.”
Advising them to think, Funke Adejumo said:
“Some of you are just sitting down popping out children. Some of you are just sitting down doing nothing.”
She continued:
“There’s a way your husband treats you if you had value to him. No man wants a liability in his life. He has enough to battle at work.”
She added that a man “wants a think-tank, a woman that can operate at the same frequency of his brain.”

COVID-19 palliative from Nigeria reportedly being sold in London
A Twitter user identified as @_PLICE has taken to the platform to reveal that a UK-based Nigerian man spotted cartons of COVID-19 palliative noodles from Nigerian in London.
The palliatives, contributed under the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) scheme during the peak of the pandemic was meant to be distributed to Nigerians to cushion the effect of the virus on the life of citizens.
Chisom @_PLICE shared a screenshot of the message he received from a UK resident who took a snapshot of the branded palliative noodles he came across at an African market in East ham, London.
According to the message, it was learnt that the food items were allegedly imported into London by a Chinese UK company.
He also revealed that the company has been reported to the British Trading Standards to be investigated and prosecuted.
