Buhari Holds Emergency Meeting With Lawan, Gbajabiamila, Hours Before The Commencement Of Operation ‘Crocodile Smile’ [VIDEO]

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday was reported to have met with the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and the Speaker House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, over the ongoing protest acorss the country.

This was revealed in a tweet by Bashir Ahmad, the Special Assistant to the President on New Media.

After the meeting, the leadership of the National Assembly, “appealed to Nigerian youth to end the #EndPoliceBrutality protests across the country as the government heard and accepted their genuine demands and working to address all of them.”

Speaking, the Senate President, Lawan said; “Since the issues [raised by the protesters] have been accepted [by the government] the time has come for the protests to stop, government needs to have time to implement the demands of the protesters”.

Their meeting comes as the Federal Government may have finally yielded to the temptation of quelling the ongoing #EndSARS protests via military might, in the guise of Exercise Crocodile Smile 6, which the Nigerian Army announced will commence on Tuesday, October 20.

Also encompassed in Exercise Crocodile Smile 6, is a cyber-warfare operation, which the army said is “designed to identify, track and counter negative propaganda on the social media and across the cyberspace.”

This development came to light on a day that protesting youths in Lagos State and other locations across the country became vociferous in their demand for President Muhammadu Buhari’s resignation.
