BREAKING: Thugs attack Gov Oyetola’s Convoy as #EndSARS protests heighten [PICS]

A gang of hoodlums attacked the Convoy of Osun state governor, Gboyega Oyetola on Saturday while he was speaking to #EndSARS Protesters, POLITICS NIGERIA has learned.

Trouble started shortly after the Governor tried to address the angry protesters in Osogbo when several thugs suddenly started vandalising vehicles in Mr. Oyetola’s convoy causing his aides to speedily rush him to safety. Confirming the incident, the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Media, Mabel Aderonke, confirmed the attack while sharing photos of the vandalised vehicles.

“There was a scary attempt on Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s life by armed thugs on Saturday in Osogbo,” @MabelAderonkeN tweeted.

BREAKING: Aisha Buhari reacts to #EndSARS protests with Powerful Tweet

Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari has reacted to the current #EndSARS Protests rocking the country with a simple but powerful message on her Twitter Page.

The First Lady shared a video showing her husband, President Muhammadu Buhari and service chiefs having a roundtable meeting, accompanying it with a statement ‘#Achechijamaa’, which translates to ‘#SavethePeople’.

This is Mrs. Buhari’s first statement ever since the #EndSARS Protests began although she did not explicitly state who the message was directed to. The Nigerian Government has been under pressure since the protests against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad(SARS), a notorious unit of the Nigerian police force known for extra-judicial killings and extortion, began.

Oshimhen scores first Serie A goal in Napoli big win

Victor Osimhen scored his first goal in Serie A as Napoli hammered visiting Atalanta 4-1 on Saturday.

Osimhen got on the score sheet with two minutes left in the first half to make it 4-0 for Napoli. The former Lille striker chested down David Ospina’s long ball upfield, turned and drilled low into the bottom corner for his first in three league games.Hirving Lozano opened scoring for Napoli in the 23rd minute before doubling his side’s lead on 27 minutes.

And on the half-hour mark, Matteo Politano added the third goal while Sam Lammers pulled a goal back for Atalanta in the 69th minute. Napoli is third on eight points while Atalanta remains second on nine points in the league table.

BREAKING Obiano visits SARS offices in Anambra, frees detainees

Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano on Saturday visited the three offices of the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS). The offices are in Ekwulobia, Neni and Awkuzu.

DAILY POST gathered that the governor during the visit granted bail unconditionally to three detainees illegally held by the defunct unit. Speaking during the exercise, Governor Obiano said, “the Commissioner of Police in the state has released everyone detained illegally, and everyone remanded by the order of the court, will remain there until their cases are determined.”

Obiano had on Thursday sacked hie senior security aide, James Nwafor, who was formerly a SARS boss in the state before his appointment.

Don’t act like you are one of us – Falz blast Dino Melaye

Nigerian singer Falz, has tackled former Kogi State Senator, Dino Melaye, after he tweeted in support of the EndSARS protest happening across the country.

Dino, advised the federal government to work with the people or face revolution. He also revealed that government has no power to ban protest as stated in the constitution.

The former senator, said that the government should realized that the people have woken up from their slumber, as agitation for the end of police brutality and extrajudicial killing gains momentum across the country.

End SARS: Dolapo Badmus clears air on alleged dismissal from Police Force

Former Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Dolapo Badmus, has described as ‘fake news, reports of her demotion.

Reports had emerged on Saturday that Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP, Abayomi Shogunle and Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP, Dolapo Badmus have been demoted. 24 other ex-SARS operatives were also reportedly dismissed for various acts of misconduct.

But reacting on her Twitter page, Badmus said the reports were fake. She tweeted, “Ignore Fake News. “Whoever slotted my name in that list is a joker. I will forever respect people’s human rights, my name will never be put up as one who has violated another’s right.”

FG reopens Eko Bridge, Marine Bridge Monday

The Federal Government has announced the reopening of the Marine Beach Bridge and the Eko Bridge in Lagos State

The Eko Bridge and Marine Beach Bridge were shutdown by the government in March and May respectively for repairs while declaring it unsafe for public use.

However, the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, SAN, on Saturday, directed that both bridges be reopened to traffic from Monday, October 19
