NBA Withdraws El-Rufai’s Invitation
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has bowed to pressure and withdrawn its invitation to Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State who was meant to speak at the association’s annual general conference.
NBA took the decision at its just concluded National Executive Committee meeting.
According to the association, the decision was taken so that the governor can have more time to focus on the killings in Southern part of Kaduna State.

Police Offer 500K Reward For Serial Killer
The Police Command in Oyo state has announced a N500, 000 reward for any member of the public that has any useful information that can lead to the re-arrest of a serial killer suspect in Ibadan, Sunday Shodipe.
Shodipe who is the prime suspect in connection with the serial ritual killings of over five persons in Akinyele, Moniya in Ibadan, was paraded before newsmen on July 17. The police over the weekend, announced he had escaped from police custody and was declared wanted.
In a statement released today August 20, the police announced a N500, 000 reward for anyone with useful information that can lead to his arrest.

FG To Limit Inbound Int’l Flight Passengers To 1280
International inbound passengers will be limited to 1280, the Federal Government has declared.
According to the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, only 1280 passengers will be allowed to fly into Murtala Muhammed International airport in Lagos and Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja when international flight operations commence on August 29.
The Task Force also noted it will ban countries that have banned Nigerians and its residence from flying into it.

EFCC Arrests 4 Undergraduates Over Alleged $111,500 Internet Fraud
Operatives of the Port Harcourt zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have arrested four students of the University of Port Harcourt for their alleged involvement in internet fraud.
The quartet, who allegedly defrauded 15 victims of $111,500( One Hundred and Eleven Thousand, Five Hundred United States Dollars) are: Prince Hyacinth; Rex Emadifie Oghene, Odili Ifeayi and Uduak Samuel Williams.
They were picked up on Thursday, August 20, 2020, from their hideout at Chibiak Avenue, Elenpranwo, Ada George, Port Harcourt.

Buhari Names Amokachi As Special Assistant On Sports
President Muhammadu Buhari has named Nigerian football legend, Daniel Amokachi, as his Special Adviser on Sports.
This was announced in a press statement by the Media Office of the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, on Thursday.
The statement noted that Amokachi’s letter of appointment was issued on August 17, 2020 and signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.

Police Rescue 55-year-old Man Chained To Wood For 30 Years
An unidentified man who had been confined in a room for about 30 years by his relatives was rescued by the Police in Kano State.
The man was rescued on Thursday after spending three decades in captivity.
The relatives allegedly locked up the 55-year-old man for having a psychiatric problem.
