BREAKING: Buhari grants Akpabio’s request to obtain N20bn for East-West Road
President Muhammadu Buhari has granted the request of the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, to obtain N20 billion for the East-West Road.
POLITICS NIGERIA understands that the working capital will be obtained from the Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWI). The East-West road project was first awarded in 2006 by the Olusegun Obasanjo administration but driven by the YarAdua/ Jonathan administrations.
The project, a 657-kilometre dual carriageway, stretching from Calabar in Cross River State to Warri in Delta State, was, however, valued at N726 billion at the time and approved by the federal government at the height of agitations by youths in the Niger Delta.

Edo governorship: Buhari reportedly invites Ize-Iyamu for discussion in Aso Rock
A report claims President Muhammadu Buhari has invited Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate to the presidential villa for discussion ahead of the flag-off of the party’s governorship campaign in Benin City, the Edo state capital.
According to This Day newspaper, Ize-Iyamu has already arrived in Abuja for the meeting with the president.
The report also stated that leaders of the APC including Bola Tinubu; the president of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan; members of the National Assembly; all governors elected on the platform of party and other top leaders of the party are expected to flag-off of the party’s governorship campaign in Edo state on Saturday, August 8.
Maheeda not ready to delete naked videos on porn sites
Controversial Nigerian singer, Caroline Sam aka Maheeda, is not ready to delete her naked videos on pornographic sites even after turning a new leaf.
Maheeda made this remark while responding to questions from fans after she announced that she has embraced Christianity and shun her controversial and raunchy lifestyle.
A fan asked ‘Maheeda, you still have naked twerk videos on porn sites, why not pull it down?’ She responded by saying, “I don’t have the power to put it down, because it is beautiful to have your mess around while your message is still going around so I might not delete them.
