Fromer Aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode has quizzed Africa’s richest man, Aliko Danogte concerning the frequency with which Nigerians lose their lives in road crashes involving Dangote Groups owned trucks.
Dangote groups of companies, which the Billionaire owns, have fleet of trucks that convey some of the goods produced, notably cement, up and down the country and are often reported to be involved in road crashes leaving scores dead.
“Meanwhile is it true that your trucks kill more Nigerians per year than AIDS?” – Asked chief Fani-Kayode in a tweet which the politician started by expressing opinion on what Dangote was reportedly told by Bill Gates.
Dangote was quoted as saying that Mr. Gates had opened his eyes to the health challenges in Nigeria. Reacting, Fani-Kayode expressed sadness at the fact that it took an outsider to awaken the Billionaire’s conscious to the challenges his compatriots face, before going ahead to ask if it was true his trucks kill more Nigerians that the dreaded HIV virus annually.
