Senator Dino Melaye may have kissed goodbye, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship ticket in Kogi State following a new press release by the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC.
Recall that Engr Musa Wada on Wednesday beat Dino Melaye and others to the ticket of the party after scoring 748 votes.
Senator Melaye who was confident of emerging the party’s flagbearer was left shocked, and has gone on to expressed dissatisfaction at the conduct, hoping for a possible redress by the Party’s hierarchy.
But all that now appear to be heading for a futile end as the country’s electoral body has once again reiterated it won’t be giving any grace period upon the expiration of the primary elections window.
According to an INEC statement, signed by Festus Okoye Esq. National Commissioner for Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, the body was maintain its deadlines of September 5, 2019 as the last day for the conduct of Party Primaries and September 9, 2019 as the last day for the submission of the list of nominated candidates.
