Nigerian comedy superstar, Bright Okpocha, professionally known as Basket Mouth has joined in the long list of Nigerian celebrities who have announce South Africa boycott following renewed attacks on Nigerians by South Africans.
This follows earlier announcements by pop stars, Burna Boy and Tiwa Savage.
Announcing his own action towards the attacks in a twitter message on Wednesday, Basket Mouth disclosed he was boycotting the Comic Choice Awards, scheduled this weekend in South Africa.
He said he hopes his action and that of other celebrities who have spoken out against the attack will make a difference.
“I AM NOT SURE HOW AND WHEN WE GOT HERE.
I WON’T BE ATTENDING THE COMICS CHOICE AWARDS THIS WEEKEND IN S A AS SCHEDULED
IT MIGHT SOUND LIKE A WHISPER BUT TOGETHER OUR VOICES AND THE RIGHT ACTIONS WILL HOPEFULLY MAKE A TRUE DIFFERENCE. AND REAL CHANGE CAN BEGIN.
BUT FOR TODAY, WE STAND.” He tweeted.
