Social media aide to president Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie has expressed fear that time was near when Nigerians of some states origin would be needing permission to reside in other states of the federation.
She took to twitter to declare that in no distant time, intra-national passport might become a prerequisite to residing in a state that is not one’s origin.
“Are we approaching a point where we may be needing intra-national passports to live in states outside ours?
While Pres @MBuhari consistently says we are free to reside anywhere we choose, some states have become territorial, choosing who comes to stay in their states.
Its unfair” She tweeted on Sunday.

Her remarks may not be unconnected to the recent clamp down on northern migrants in Lagos.
Recall that the Lagos state Police command had recently blocked a truck carrying about 123 citizens from northern Nigeria and arrested its occupants – citizens believed to be migrating to Lagos for Okada business.
