Nigerians Blast EFCC Social Media Handler For Calling Anti-Graft Agency Officials ‘Magu Boys’

Nigerians on Twitter are apparently not in approval of how the social media handler of Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) appears to be portraying the agency.

The handler had on Wednesday tweeted, ”Magu Boys, led by EFCC’s Lagos Head of Operations, Mohammed Rabo, on the move as they continue to tame the corruption monster from the Lagos axis of the battlefield. With the acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, giving orders and directing affairs, the war is winnable.” referring to the anti-graft agency’s officials as Magu Boys.

A photo of some of the officials of the agency accompanied the tweet.

But Nigerians would have none of it as they contend that this is a government agency and not someone’s personal project and thus wondered why officials of such an agency would be referred to as Magu Boys.

Twitter user, @HAHayatu shortly replied the handle saying ”Isn’t it shameful that you call your operatives “Magu Boys” what if tomorrow they change Magu and another person is appointed head, will you then call them XYZ Boys, this is shameful description of people working for Nigeria coming from official handle, please quit sycophancy while another user @omole_niyi replying said ”Miscreants in suits, if you ask them to bring their WAEC results now stories will start. “all academic credentials are with Military“, awòn wère people.”

Again another Twitter user, @Mr_BharseyM added, ”Who ever is in charge of this handle need some serious orientation. You tag men working for a govt institution as Magu boys? Now I see why Magu boys always abate criminal element in our society yet you corruption thrive.
