I Have Not Stepped Down For Idris Wada In Kogi Governorship Race – Dino Melaye

The Senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye, has denied that he plans to contest in the Kogi governorship race as a deputy to Capt. Idris Wada, former Governor of the State.

The embattled lawmaker who is favourite to get the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for the election which is slated for November, on Thursday, in a statement by Gideon Ayodele, his media aide, stated that the rumour was being circulated to stop his emergence as the governorship candidate of the party.

“Capt. Idris Wada lost the last election as a sitting governor and it makes no sense that Dino Melaye, a man with a better idea and clearer vision, will queue behind such an aspirant,” the statement said.

The PDP will hold its governorship primary on September 3rd 2019.
