Recall that twitter user Gimba Kakanda, @gimbakakanda had posted a tweet of an alleged mosque in Rivers State that had allegedly being demolished by the Rivers State government.
However, subsequent update has revealed otherwise.
I've started getting on-site videos from residents of Trans Amadi in Port Harcourt on the alleged Mosque demolition. I'll share as many as I can under this thread. pic.twitter.com/UoOZUmXuFZ

This has however led to some angry outburst by Muslims who are in Kano State threatening a reprisal attack on churches in Kano.
Some tweets seen online revealed this;
Here is a seed from the fake news Gimba planted yesterday about a Mosque being demolished in Port Harcourt. He has refused to delete it.
The fake news is already spreading like wildfire on WhatsApp. Poorly informed Muslims in the North are brewing up for violence. God safe us. pic.twitter.com/4DmyKEND15

Interestingly, the Rivers State government has reportedly also offered a no backing down statement saying Rivers State is a Christian state:

However, other twitter users have expressed divergent opinions. Twitter user @abduljoe11 said ”No sane Muslim will come out to support the demolishing of a place of worship for reprisal, even if the purported news is true. As for gimba he needs to verify news before he tweeted it. Things like this can easily cause religious crisis and mayhem” while @Gabrielaniebona @MrOdanz said ”Gimba is not even in nigeria at d moment but wants to cause riot with his tweet”.
