Former president Goodluck Jonathan was on Wednesday spotted at the launch of theĀ “New Yenagoa City” project in the capital city of Bayelsa state.
The former president was among dignitaries that attended the event – which marked the launch of the Bayelsa state government sponsored project.
The event was held at the Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The state’s Commissioner for Information and Orientation Daniel Iworiso-Markson had earlier explained the project was designed to control development at the capital city, by inviting real estate investors to a window of opportunity to secure plot(s) of land.
The state also hopes it would attract people from all walks of life, and Certificates of Occupancy (CofO) will be issued to persons already allocated plots of land in the new city.
Speaking at the event today, ex president Jonathan expressed hopes that the dream of the New Yenagoa City will be a reality.
Also present at the event was Engr Simbi Wabote, Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), the state Governor, Seriake Henry Dickson, amongst others.
