Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has given a directive to all government officials to desist from making public comments on the land crises which recently happened in the state. The crises had erupted between the people of Araromi Obu and Ikale (Ago Alaye) over a land dispute.
The Governor gave the directive after he inaugurated a panel to carry out a probe on the crises.
The directive is to allow the panel which was set up by the Government to be dispassionate as it carries out its assignment.
Mr Ojo Oyewamide, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Governor Akeredolu, had in a statement, said that the Governor had belief in the sanctity of the process which has already been put in place as it underscores the need for all to abstain from the path of sub-judice.
The statement added, “the directive does not in any way, inhibit private suggestions from individuals to the Panel by way of Memorandum, on issues that will promote a more harmonious relationship between the affected communities”.
