Reports have it that Kogi State’s deputy governor, Mr Simon Achuba is alleging that the Governor, Yahaya Bello is after his life.
The duo’s relationship has been frosty for a while now as he has accused the governor of refusing to pay an accumulated sum of N819,709,980 which has been withheld from his office since 2017.
The accumulated sum is a total of statutory allocations which includes allowances, hotel bills, pledges as well as outstanding monthly impress.
Addressing the media on Thursday, August 1, 2019, Achuba raised alarm saying that Bello has allegedly mobilised gunmen to hunt him down.
“I want the police, SSS, IGP to know that if anything should happen to me, my family and aides, the governor should be held responsible,” he said.
He called on President Muhammadu Buhari to also pay attention to what is going on in the state, even as it gears up for the November 16 governorship election.
