He said the monthly allocations of the sate had been mismanaged in the past three years, saying, “the time to act is now”

He said his governorship struggle was just a stepping stone to his presidential ambition, boasting that he is the only candidate that can sack the incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello from government house in the November 16 election.

Melaye boasted that if he is given the PDP ticket he would flush Bello out of the Lord Lugard Government House in a poll fixed for November 16, 2019.

He accused the governor of impoverishing Kogi people rather than improving their living condition.

He declared that he had entered into a social contract with the people of the state. especially the poor to be at the forefront of rescuing the state from “scavengers and looters.”

The Sun quoted him as saying, “Kogi State is not witnessing democracy; what we are witnessing is a government of the greedy, by the greedy and for the greedy, best put as ‘greedocracy.’

He promised that his would-be administration would banish hunger from the state, “Kogi as no business to be poor. I shall look into agriculture and technology to turn around the economic fortune of the state.”

Answering a question about his chances among other aspirants within PDP, he said, “I’m the best and most experienced to rescue the state from the present occupant.”

He stated that despite his arrest for 18 times in the past three years, “I fear nobody; I only respect human beings.”

He said he would love to attend a guber debate before the governorship election to sell his ideas to Kogi people for them to pick their candidate.
