More reactions are trailing Abubakar Malami’s comments at Friday’s ministerial screening at the floor of the Nigerian Senate.
The former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice on Friday during the Ministerial screening had said that the Petroleum Industry Bill was rejected by the president because the interest of the host community was compromised and that Public interest supersedes individual interest in matters of national security.
Reacting however, Dr Charles Omole a legal luminary says Malami’s comments only shows lack of legal creativity and jurisprudential laziness. Court Orders can be obeyed & public kept safe at the same time, he says. Why disobey some court orders.
This shows a lack of legal creativity. Court Orders can be obeyed & public kept safe at the same time. This is Jurisprudencial laziness by Abubakar Malami (SAN).

This is part of the joke the country endured the past 4 years and now set to continue. By this statement alone, he has accepted disobeying court orders and that’s enough reason not to confirm him if we really take rule of law seriously. Our courts are no longer the last hope

Presenting YOUR OPINION like it’s a fact. The former AGF sited a Supreme Court ruling to back his statement. Did the Supreme Court lack creativity and showed laziness as well?
