EFCC Strikes Okorocha Hard, Shuts Down Facility

Some officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have placed the Rochas Foundation College in Owerri, on a lock-down. The college is owned by the former Governor of Imo State.

The anti-graft body as well, shut down, the East High Primary and Secondary School in Owerri. This educational facility belongs to Uloma Nwosu, the daughter of the former Imo Governor.

Also sealed by the EFCC, is the All-In Supermarket in Owerri and is said to belong to another member of Okorocha’s family.

The EFCC, after shutting down the properties, placed a notice with a warning which stated, “under investigation by EFCC, keep off.”

The management of the East High Primary and Secondary School however, issued a statement on Wednesday claiming that the school, has not been sealed by the anti-graft body, but was only under an investigation.

The statement which was signed by Jones Onwuasoanya, revealed that, the EFCC may have the constitutional power to carry out an investigation on the school, but that funds with which the school was established was not illegal.

The media aide to the former Imo State Governor. Mr Sam Onwuemeodo, revealed that a press statement was being put together by him to address this new development, telling THE PUNCH that it would take less than an hour to put the statement together.
