The President of the Federal republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has applauded the move of the ACM Bashir Umar, the Aircraftman, for returning a sum of 37,000 Euros to the owner.
Nigerian Air Force has also revealed its plan to reward the aircraftman for making such a commendable decision. Bashir Umar had returned the sum of 37,000 Euros to Alhaji Ahmad.
Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President in a statement has described Umar’s honesty “uncommon, patriotic and exemplary,” he also asked Nigerians especially the youth to follow in the footstep of such a commendable action.
“Honesty and integrity will always remain admirable virtues, notwithstanding challenges before any country,” the President said.
He consequently approved the move of NAF to “reward the airman so as to encourage other personnel of the Service to continue to embody attitudes and behaviors that reflect NAF’s core values of Integrity, Excellence and Service Delivery.”
