The Presidency has said that those calling for national conference are not democrats, it can be said that this is a way of  saying that Olusegun Obasanjo the former president of the federal republic of Nigeria  is not a democrat. This is coming after following his latest letter to President Muhammadu Buhari on the state of the nation.

In his open letter, the former president had cautioned Buhari on the need to take drastic action to tackle the impending danger of insecurity in the nation.

Obasanjo also called for various ethnic groups to gather together and decided on how to have a peaceful co- existence.

The senior special assistant to the President on media and publicity, Garba Shehu had said that anyone  not happy with the present structure of the administration should approach the National Assembly.

He had said this while featuring on the Channels Television’s Sunday Politics,

He said: “To call for a national conference when there is a sitting Parliament in place, whoever is making that call is not a democrat.”
