Former minster of aviation, Femi Fani Kayode has warned the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, about the dangers of waging war against southern Nigeria.
This comes after national secretary of the group, Alhassan Saleh was quoted by the punch as saying herdsmen in the southern region should defend themselves in the event any ethnic militia group was to rise against them.
Mr. Alhassan had in a telephone interview with the Punch expressed that the herders had right to free movement anywhere in Nigeria.
president Muhammadu Buhari had also told herdsmen to ignore calls from certain groups in the North for them to vacate south and return home.
Reacting on Saturday, Chief Fani-Kayode warned that the group would suffer humiliation in the hands of their southern counterparts should they force a war.
“Miyetti Allah wake not the sleeping sword of the south lightly and desist from bringing out the beast in us. Southerners loathe spilling innocent blood and we deplore violence. However if you force war upon us you will suffer a crushing blow and humiliatiing defeat. We are lions!” He boasted.
