According to the 2019 appropriation budget President Muhmmadu Buhari will spend an huge sum of N26, 432, 346 for the purchase of newspaper in the State House.
Conversion/upgrade of Villa Ranch and construction of wildlife conservation capture would gulp about N27. 463 million and about N11. 865 million will be expended on rehabilitation of animal enclosure/procurement of Vet Lab equipmen. And the the Office of the President would gulp N8,580,741 to purchase books in the 2019 fiscal year and N26, 432, 346 was earmarked in the 2019 budget for the purchase of newspaper while N3, 511,909 will be expended on magazines and periodicals.
The budget signed into law by the president showed that about N751.296 million will be spent on international travels by the number one citizen and also another N250. 021 will be expended on local travels.
Meanwhile about N217.060 million will be expended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on international travels and N83. 74 million will be on local travels. a whooping sum of N576. 747 million was earmarked for the phase replacement of vehicles,tyres in the presidential CVU, security/police escort and Aso Rock operational fleet.
About N395. 834 million was set aside for the construction of the Presidential Wing of the Aso Rock presidential villa and clinic while N395. 834 million would be expended on the construction of office buildings. The number one citizen will spend a whooping sum of N164. 176 million on honorarium and sitting allowance and about N25 .652 million will be spent on meals and refreshment.
The Chief Security Officer to the President will be issued an huge sum of N 433. 457 million for the sole purpose of purchasing aa security and operational vehicles and the State House Medical Centre was allocated a total of N798.856 million and drugs and medical supplies will goop a whooping sum of N208. 350 million and about N 244.364 million will be expended on the purchase of health and medical equipment.
President Buhari will spend about N98.3 million to buy foodstuff, catering material supplies, just as another N25.7 million will be expended on refreshments and meals. Some budgetary allocation for the first family includes N30. 2m for sporting activities, N38m for purchase of sporting/gaming equipment, N68m for motor fuel and 45. 7m for plant/generator fuel cost and N18. 6m for cooking gas.
President Muhammmadu Buhari earlier signed a whooping N8.9 trillion budget which is N90 billion more than the N8. 825 billion presented by the number on ctitizen to a joint session of both legislative chamber of the National Assembly in 2018. The appropriation budget is to be funded through an assumption of $60 per barrel, oil production of 2.3 million barrel per day, with an exchange rate of N305 to the dollar with an inflation rate of 9.98 per cent.
