The Oyo state government under the leadership of Senator Abiola Ajimobi, had on Tuesday announced a new development after renaming some roads and institutions after some societal echelons in partial recognition of their contributions to the state.
The state Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Toye Arulogun, said this in a statement that the decision was in recognition of the individuals’ contributions to the development of the state, career and humanity.
REACTIONS FROM SOCIAL MEDIA
This action by Ajimobi naming a street after himself clearly confirmed how myopic our so called leaders behave. It's a narrow minded person that blows his trumpet by himself. It's totally uncalled for as it's childish. He included other notable people as a covered up for himself.

Lies, Ajimobi trying to use these names to stylishly immortalise himself by naming roads and some institutions after himself. And we’ve been calling these people leaders? Self centred people in leadership across Nigeria. This country needs a total revamp.

On Ajimobi losing his senatorial election because he doesn't know how to talk…
He's the longest serving governor in Oyo state, first to get relected for 2 consecutive terms. Lam Adesina, Bola Ige and Alao Akala all couldn't; but he doesn't know how to talk?
Red flag.

Where is dignity exhibited by proud men of valor, 2 deny an adversary by not eating his dinner to disdain power? It's not only foolish, but unfortunate that these spineless, corrupt obas can honour Governor Ajimobi, who evoked a harmful power 2 ridicule the Yoruba oba institution
