There was some uproar on the internet space after Senator-elect of Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Dino Melaye, after he made some remarks about the Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples’s Democratic Party, PDP, Peter Obi.

Mr Peter Obi had gone to pay the Senator a visit as he lost his mother to the cold hands of death recently. Senator Dino Melaye, however, broke the internet as he took to his Instagram page to announce the visit of the former Anambra State Governor.

While making the announcement, the distinguished Senator referred to Peter Obi as the incoming Vice President. This practically caused a meltdown on the internet, as a lot of Nigerians gave their reactions to this remark by the Kogi state Senator.

This is more so as although, Mr Peter Obi had served as the running mate to Atiku Abubakar who was the Presidential candidate of the Dino Melaye’s Party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

It however turned out that after the elections, that Atiku along with Peter Obi lost out to President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the elections after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced its official result.

Atiku had however, gone to the Presidential Election Tribunal to seek redress as he claimed that he won the elections, even taking it a notch further by claiming he had the highest number of votes as was recorded in the INEC server. This claim has been contested by INEC however as the electoral body has said that the claims by Atiku and the PDP is not true.
