The implementation of the new minimum wage, just signed into law by the All Progressive Congress, APC-led administration, has won more fans to the side of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The president, who is preparing for his second and final term in office, signed the bill into law on Thursday, April 18.
One of such converts is Reno Omokri. The former Aide to ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan, on Friday, joined other well meaning Nigerians to commend President Buhari, for signing the Minimum Wage Repeal and Re-Enactment Bill into Law.
I commend President @MBuhari for signing the Minimum Wage Repeal and Reenactment Bill into law. He had no need to do it, since the elections are over (but the court case is NOT), but he did it all the same. That is an act of good leadership on his part and I appreciate him for it

Recall, that the Senate had on March 19, approved N30,000, as the new National Minimum Wage, with an appeal to the President to expedite action on its assent and implementation.
Reacting, Omokri who is a staunch critic of the Buhari-led administration, said that the President showed good leadership by signing the Bill into Law.
He tweeted: “I commend President @MBuhari for signing the Minimum Wage Repeal and Re-Enactment Bill into Law. He had no need to do it, since the elections are over (but the court case is NOT), but he did it all the same.
“That is an act of good leadership on his part, and I appreciate him for it.”
See how Nigerians reacted to his tweet.
I believe this is an awesome and genuine way for the opposition to operate, commend where progress is made and criticise where there are shortcomings (There will always be more of the later in any government). I praise you for this comment sir, Nigeria will be great.

And in truth, you have also displayed an act of good follower-ship..
Everyone can be a critic, it's also more easier to be in the opposition, but applauding your opponent when a job is well done, is an example of good sportsmanship.
Kudos..

As long as it doesn't end up in increment in price of petrol in December and increments in prices of goods in the market all workers patronize, including those not included in the minimum wage bill.

The next thing would follow is increment of fuel price and lead to inflation and multidimensional hardship. APC Government know what they are doing. Let's wait and see

I love the fact, that you stand for the truth, at all times. And also your ability to commend the first good deed PMB, did despite the fact that u don't, agree with his dealings, shows that u are upright.
