Confusion in Oyo State As Bandits Robs Ajimobi Off 375Million in Broad Daylight (See Details)

Governor Isiaka Ajimobi of Oyo state is currently mourning the loss of his ”hard-earned” money.

According to reports, it is a difficult time for the governor as he was recently robbed to the tune of 357million naira.

SharaReporters reports that, the money was stolen while it was being conveyed to some banks in Ibadan.

The money was reportedly moved out of the Governors residence by the family’s loyal driver known as ‘Baba Obe’

The driver who has been the family’s driver for decades was reported saying that they had not gotten to the destination when unknown gun men carted away with the money.

Accorsing to a source who spoke with SaharaReporters, “The money was moved out in a Toyota Hiace bus. They were going to deposit some of it in Access Bank and the other in Heritage Bank, but they were attacked on Ring Road, just before the roundabout where a road leads to Iyaganku and the other to Apata. Everything happened between 7:20am and 7:35am.”

It was also alleged that the man drafted to oversee the safe transfer of the money from the residence to the bank- ‘Semiu’, was wounded during the attack.Reports have it that his head was hit with a gun.

Semiu has since been arrested on the grounds that he was the brain behind the robbery as only an ”inside source” could have known the where, what and when of the transfer.

Olugbenga Fadeyi, spokesman of the Police in Oyo State who spoke with a Journalist from the SaharaReporters team stated that no official report has been lodged concerning the robbery that took place on Ring road.

He said: “It is possible that there was a robbery but if no official report was made, we won’t know,”

It will be recalled that over 1billion Naira was moved from Ajimobi’s residence and till date have not been accounted for after been declared missing on February 23
