The Kano state gubernatorial election was described by many as far from a peaceful with several rancorous views of violence been displayed, hence several bodies including the opposition party,

PDP has before the conclusion of the election, decried the credibility of the election that earlier before the supplementary election,

the PDP claim they were winning in the 33 out of the 34 local government in the state. The party chairman in the state made a public announcement that the party, PDP would not accept the results announced by INEC.

PDP has chosen to take redress on the matter in court but then, Ganduje the announced winner of the Kano 2019 gubernatorial reacted to the opposition challenge of his victory in court;

Kano state Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has said he would ever be ready to face the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which has vowed to challenge his victory at the just concluded governorship election in court.

According to the governor, the PDP would make great mistake if it dares challenge his election victory in court, saying that such challenge would consume the opposition PDP in Kano.

The governor said Monday at Ganduje town in Dawakin Tofa local government, when he received thousands of supporters who trooped there to congratulate him on his re-election.

“Before the re-run election, which we emerged victorious, the PDP was deep-neck in ballot box stuffing and other electoral offences, a ploy that was later uncovered.

It was after that the ballot-box stuffing scenario that a genuine election was conducted in which genuine result emerged.

“My thinking about these people is that they are about to kick-start what would later consume them. What they did in other elections of the state legislators in some places will be looked at, with the view to ascertaining authenticity of such votes they claimed to have got,” Ganduje said.

Meanwhile, Ganduje has assured that his administration won’t intimidate or harass people of the state and members of the opposition in the next four years.

In a statement signed by the state Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, the governor urged the opposition to work with his government in the interest of the state.

“We have no intention whatsoever to intimidate anybody be it civil servant or private citizen. Elections are associated with heated debate on political differences, but they are over and we have a big task of working together because Kano belongs to all of us.”
