Details Later…

The signs of victory seemed to have been glaring for the Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party as earlier in the day, the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which sat in Abuja moved to dismiss the separate objections which the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gboyega Oyetola, together with the party itself, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)  acting as joint respondents against the petition which was challenging the victory of the APC and Oyetola at the September 2018 Osun Governorship Election.

Adeleke and the Peoples Democratic Party had filed the petition praying the tribunal to declare him the winner of the polls since he polled the highest lawful votes during the excercise.

But Oyetola, the APC, together with INEC, had earlier filed their notices of preliminary objection to contend among others that the petition was not competent and that therefore, the court was lacking in jurisdiction.

Justice Peter Obi, in the course of delivering the‎ lead ruling of the three-man tribunal, said that the objections were not conceived and therefore struck them out. The tribunal subsequently added that the tribunal was within jurisdiction to hear the petition.

There are two other reserved rulings the tribunal is to deliver before delving into the merit of the petition. The Justice Ibrahim Sirajo-led three-man bench began delivering judgment at 10.33am on Friday.

Meanwhile, his nephew, popular musician David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has given a wonderful joyous reaction to the news of his uncle finally being adjudged as the winner of the Osun state governorship elections.
