The All Progressives Congress, APC has rejected the ruling of the Osun State Election Petition Tribunal which nullified the election of Gboyega Oyetola as governor of the state.
APC spokesman in the state, Kunle Oyatomi described the ruling of the tribunal as one which will not stand.
He said higher courts will in no distant time overturn the ruling of the tribunal.
The tribunal while giving its ruling said the Returning Officer, Prof Joseph Fuwape erred by declaring supplementary election in areas where votes were cancelled.
It therefore deducted votes from areas where the supplementary election took place, and declared Adeleke winner of the governorship election.
“We are going to appeal the judgment by the grace of God and we are sure the judgment cannot stand,” he said.
“This is a temporary set back for us, we know, but we know this judgment will be overturned either by the Appeal Court or at the Supreme Court.
“There is no reason why anyone should fret at this point, we appeal to our supporters and members to be calm.”
