Another Polling Unit Gives APC The Keys To the Kingdom! A Great Victory Struck

Gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mai Mala Buni, has won his polling unit in the governorship and state House of Assembly elections.

The collation officer of Buni Lawanti’s ward at Phase One, Damaturu, Anthony Okeke, announced that the APC candidate got 162 votes against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Umar Iliya Damagum that polled 22 votes.

According to reports, there were cases of violence orchestrated by political thugs in some parts of Fune local government area of Yobe State during the conduct of the governorship and state assembly election.

It was alleged that the thugs who were hired from the neighbouring Gombe state, were said to have been arrested by police personnel for prosecution.

Idi Barde Gubana, the Yobe State APC governorship candidate’s running mate has confirmed the incident, saying the thuggery was the only challenge so far experienced in the area.

He claimed that the hired thugs came only to disrupt the conduct of the exercise.

“There are some challenges in some polling units where thugs were brought from outside the state to destabilise the elections but were arrested by the security operatives in the area,” he stated.

Gubana added that apart from the incident, elections were peaceful in the area.
