10 things you didn’t know about Atiku Abubakar

Following the very impressive outing of the Presidential candidate of the PDP and the VP candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr. Peter Obi respectively, here are ten things you never knew about Atiku Abubakar as a person:

  1. Atiku owns a Micro-finance bank that has given 80% of loans to women and have brought out 46,000 families from poverty in the North-East. If an individual could bring out 46,000 families from poverty, imagine what would happen if this individual is allowed to manage the resources of Nigeria.
  2. Atiku Abubakar has a foundation which shares treated and improved seedlings to women in the North East of Nigeria, during the planting season. This effort comes from his pocket and he has sustained 100,000 families in the North East by so doing.
  3. Atiku Abubakar is the second highest employer of labor in the North East, after the government. He has more than 35,000 families under his payroll from his farms, bottle water industries and schools.
  4. Atiku Abubakar opened the American University of Nigeria, for non-profit reasons. Think about it, if he wanted profit, he could have opened it in Abuja and the rich kids will be all over the school.
  5. Atiku Abubakar has half of the recovered Chibok girls in his school under scholarship. His school allows the poor people’s kids to study at a subsidized rate. His school also allows poor students to work, earn and study; the same system used abroad.
  6. Atiku Abubakar is so passionate about education that he ensured a governor lost a second tenure, because the governor did not invest enough in education.
  7. Atiku is too passionate about education that anywhere he owns a company, he owns a free primary and secondary school there.
  8. Atiku is so passionate about health that he deposits money to the Yola Federal Medical Center annually, and the fund is called, “Pauper’s Fund.” Hence, this fund is used to pay the health bills of anyone who comes to the FMC Yola and cannot afford their medical bills.
  9. Atiku Abubakar owns a pure water and bottle water factory that he subsidizes for retailers, so they can make more gains and feed their families.
  10. Finally, Atiku Abubakar in his effort to help Almajiris, has numerous Almajiri schools, where students from his university; AUN, teach in. In return, AUN pays the students for their services by offering them scholarships or reducing their tuition or outrightly giving them stipends. This school has reduced the Almajiri and education problems in Adamawa State drastically.
