‘INEC lied, there was no server failure during 2023 election’ – Atiku
The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 25, 2023, election, Atiku Abubakar has argued that there was no failure of the server as claimed by the Independent National Electoral Commision (INEC).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Atiku and the PDP, in a 66-page petition lodged before the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) sitting at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, said they would adduce evidence to show that the “server,” being cloud-based, in the event of any unlikely challenge, Amazon Web Service would have seamlessly switched to another server without hitch, being autoscaling groups with multiple network reception and offline upload options.
“The petitioners contend that the technology system deployed by the 1st Respondent underwent Quality Assurance Tests (“QAT”) before acquisition and deployment.
“The 1st Respondent is, hereby, given notice to produce the QAT Report that was prepared by PricewaterhouseCoopers, PwC, as well as the Report of Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing, VAPT, by Consultant Suleiman Farouk of Sulfman Consulting Limited and all other subsequent and related reports on the system.
“The petitioners contend that the so-called ‘glitch’ was a bypass to tilt and switch the results of the presidential election in favour of the 2nd and 3rd Respondents,” they said.

APC Begins Probe, May Suspend Former Northern State Governor
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has constituted a five-member committee to probe Senator Danjuma Goje over alleged anti-party activities.
Naija News reports that this was made known to newsmen by the APC Ward Chairman in Kashere, Tanimu Abdullahi, shortly after inaugurating the committee in Kashere town of Akko Local Government Area of the state.
Abdullahi disclosed that the ruling party is suspecting that Goje allegedly connived with the opposition during the just concluded governorship and state assembly elections.
He said the committee would investigate the involvement of Goje, who is a former governor of the state and a serving senator representing Gombe Central Senatorial District, in anti-party activities, adding that they were aware that Senator Goje directed some of his loyalists to vote for a different party.
Abdullahi stated that the lawmaker allegedly gave out money for vote-buying against the APC, stressing that Goje is suspected of assisting an opposition party in the state during the just concluded governorship election.
The Ward chairman said the committee has been given two weeks to present a report for appropriate action against Goje if he is found guilty.”
“Although the APC has won the presidential election, the governorship election, and most of the state Assembly seats, we would have performed better but for Goje’s anti-party activities.
“It is unfortunate that Senator Danjuma Goje and his supporters engaged in anti-party activities, and we are all witnesses. But the committee was inaugurated in compliance with the party’s constitution, which provided for fairness and justice,” he said.
