JUST IN: House of Reps candidate dies after attending Political function [PICS]
The Accord Party candidate for Atisbo/Saki West/Saki East Federal Constituency of Oyo State in the forthcoming 2023 general election, Jacob Funmi Ogunmola, popularly called JFO, is dead.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Ogunmola died on Sunday, a few hours after attending a function in Saki.
The late politician was the caretaker chairman of Atisbo Local Government under the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
A source close to late Ogunmola said he was being moved to Lagos, his base, from Saki, when he breathed his last.
Another source said that he had just finished a programme in Saki when he complained that he was feeling unwell. They were on their way to Lagos when he breathed his last.
A few months ago, Ogunmola’s successor in office as council chairman, Wasiu Owolabi, died in a car crash.
Condolence messages have been pouring in on social media following Ogunmola’s exit.

Gunmen kidnap Benue commissioner, three others
The Benue State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Ekpe Ogbu, has been kidnapped.
He was kidnapped alongside Honourable Agbo Ode, one of his in-laws and the driver.
It was gathered that they were kidnapped along David Marks Farm, after Akpa Otobi while on their way from Otukpo to Utonkon in Ado Local Government Area of the state.
The commissioner was said to have attended a Church programme, where Senator Abba Moro, representing Benue South Senatorial district, dedicated his newly inaugurated Campaign Council to God at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Otukpo and was going to his village in NDEKMA, Utonkon District of Ado LGA after the Church programme before meeting the unfortunate incident at about 8:45pm on Sunday, 4th December, 2022.
His official vehicle had since been recovered from the scene and taken to the Divisional Police office in Otukpo.

Four arrested after invasion of Niger Senator’s home
Four people have been arrested after an invasion of the home of Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Senator Sani Musa.
The suspects were among the armed men thought to be assassins who invaded the Senator’s residence along the popular old Alheri Clinic Road, Tunga area in Minna, the state capital on Saturday night.
It was learned that the Senator, who was in Minna on Saturday morning, had left for Abuja after attending the official ceremony for the coronation and presentation of Staff of Office to the 2nd Emir of Kagara, Alhaji Ahmed Garba Gunna (Attahiru 11) which took place in Kagara.
The suspects were said to have secured the services of two people who were fully armed and in military uniform to accompany them to the residence of the Senator.
He said the suspects confessed that they were mobilised to search the residence of the Senator on the basis that he kept foreign currency.
