PHOTOS: Plane Bursts Into Flames During Take-Off

A Chinese plane carrying 113 passengers and nine crew burst into flame on the runway during take-off. Reports said that the front of the Airbus SE A319 aircraft was engulfed in flames and enveloped by thick black smoke.
Passengers carrying bags and other items were seen on the tarmac running away from the burning jet for dear life.

According to a Tibet Airlines statement posted on Weibo, 36 were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, the Civil Aviation Administration of China said.

“According to the flight crew, the plane experienced an anomaly during take-off. They stopped take-off according to procedure. “After the plane skidded off the runway, the engine scraped the ground and caught fire. By the time (the fire) was out,” Chinese aviation administration CAAC said Investigation was now being carried out to ascertain the cause of accident.

2023: Jonathan Has Not Resigned His Membership Of The PDP – Party Spokesman

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has not resigned as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This is according to the National Publicity Secretary of the main opposition party, Debo Ologunagba, who spoke during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.

“As far as today, I am not aware of any resignation from the membership of the party [PDP]” he said on Friday amid speculations that the former Nigerian leader is joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) to vie for the presidential seat in next year’s poll. “I would assume it is safe to say that he is a member of the party, ” the PDP spokesman maintained.

According to him, the party would not respond to rumours about Jonathan’s defection, saying there are no facts to prove such. Ologunagba said questions about the former president’s defection speculations should be channeled to him. “I can’t speak for him. I am not the spokesperson of the former President,” he said.
