Nigerian Army chief Yahaya issues order to troops

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya has ordered officers and men to be professional in the discharge of their duties. Yahaya gave the charge on Tuesday at the Headquarters of 6 Division of the Nigerian Army in Rivers State. Addressing the 29 battalion troops at the parade ground within Port Harcourt Barracks, the COAS enjoined them to learn from their superiors.

“For you to be professional and disciplined, you learn from your superiors”, he said.

Yahaya encouraged Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) and Regimented Sergeant Major (RSM) to uphold the proficiency.

He urged RSMs to endeavour to bring back the glory of the Army by being role models to the young ones.

The COAS handed over a new Hilux vehicle to 6 Division RSM, AWO Baba Bello to enable him carry out official duties effectively.

Yahaya commissioned a fire-fighting truck, garbage disposal truck, tractor, and grass slasher acquired by the General Officer Commanding 6 Division, Major General SG Mohammed.

He also inaugurated 2 renovated blocks of 12 flats each and laid the foundation for the construction of 1 block of 10 flats for Corporal quarters.

On his entourage were Chief of Operations, Maj. Gen. OT Akinjobi; Provost Marshal, Maj. Gen. Olumuyiwa Aiyenigba; Chief of Military Intelligence, Brig. Gen. Danladi Salihu, and some other Principal Staff Officers.

We Are Working With Nasarawa Govt To Rescue Kidnapped Monarch, Says El-Rufai

The Kaduna State Government says it is working with the Nasarawa State Government and security agencies from the two states to rescue the paramount Ruler of Jaba Jaba Chiefdom, Gyet Muade, who was kidnapped by gunmen in Nasarawa on Monday. The 83-year-old monarch was abducted by bandits suspected to be kidnappers while on his farm located at Gitata community of Nasarawa state, which shares a boundary with Jaba in Kaduna state.

Speaking when he led some government and security officials to the palace of the Kpop Ham in Jaba Chiefdom, Governor El-Rufai who was represented by his Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, assured the people of the chiefdom that the government of the two states will do everything possible to ensure the speedy rescue of the first class traditional ruler, especially considering his age and fragile health.

On his part, a leader in the community and a former senator, Zico Azeez, appealed to both the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to ensure the safe return of their chief whose abduction has created a big vacuum in the palace and the entire Jaba local government area.

Ace Nigerian beatmaker, Don Jazzy, has addressed people who mock him for featuring in online comedy skits. According to the Mavin record boss, those who tease him about his participation are ignorant.

Taking to his verified Instagram page, the legendary music producer said, “I see a lot of ignorant comments like ‘don jazzy, na ordinary skit him dey do now’. I see how some people’s shallow brains won’t let them rate or respect these hardworking skit makers. I laugh at those types of people cos that’s how they carry last.

“Na ordinary skit @mrmacaroni1 take put @obi_cubana and me and Poco Lee in one skit. Now na ordinary skit @viperthewiper_ don take feature @davido inside skit and they even used a jet.

“I have been around these guys enough to let you guys know that the amount of hard work these guys put in their ‘just skit’ is out of this world.”
