City Market in Lusaka has reportedly collapsed following a 10 minutes long heavy rain downpour at around 13:00 hours, the Zambian Observer reports.
Many people have sustained serious injuries, no death has been reported as at the broadcasting time.
The heavy downpour could be attributed to the impact of Climate Change, a global phenomenon which is said to be impacted by man-made activities such as illegal felling of trees and bush burning that affect the environment negatively.
Other consequences of climate change being seen in Zambia is the drying up of the tourist attraction site Victoria Falls, the load shedding being experienced due to drying up of dams, food shortage etc
