Tolu Ogunlesi, digital media aide to the Government of President Muhammadu Buhari has lashed out on popular political activist, Deji Adeyanju, labeling his brand of activism “rent- a-placard Revolution”
This comes as Mr. Ogunlesi was reacting to a remark made by the social media commentator – where he posited there was not hope for the Nigerian youths as most of them are rather concerned about frivolities rather than the issue of bad governance.
Deji was reacting to the frenzy generated by the popular reality television show, Big Brother Naija – which has dominated conversations in recent weeks.
He tweeted;
While their counterpart are leading a revolution, Nigerian girls & youths are hero worshipping clowns in the name Big Brother & even fighting over it. They have no future. pic.twitter.com/D5jQ7VefFV

And that caught the attention of the Presidential aide, who then questioned his brand of activism.
See Tolu’s tweets below;
In Deji’s mind, carrying Placards (on behalf of paying sponsors) and appearing on Channels/AIT raving at a camera = Revolution.
Sensible young people are putting in the real work making impactful revolution happen, and NOISELESSLY too. Yet he’s here trying to shame them. Smh.
