The Director-General of the National Youths Service Corps, Brig.- Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, on Wednesday, guaranteed a disabled corp member who was involved in an auto-crash an automatic job. The youth corper loss his two arm in a fatal accident on his way back from the orientation camp in Jalingo, Taraba state.
The DG made the statement after he visited Tahir and other corps individuals at the Government Restorative Center, Jalingo, said that the welfare of Corps individuals is fundamental to the Plan’s administration consistently.
According to the blogger, Lindaikeji, it was gathered that the corp member had been posted to Kano but he had refused to to serve there, insisting that he wanted to serve in Taraba and pleaded to be posted to Mambilla Plateau.
Unfortunately for Corp member, after the orientation exercise ended on the 8th july 2019, Tahir and 18 other corp member got involved in a fatal accident where one corp member died on the spot and the others got severely injured on the spot.
The Director General reassured the victims of the unfortunate incidence and their families that NYSC will foot the bill of their treatment. He particularly said that arrangements are being made to obtain artificial limbs for Nuradeen, who lost both arms in the ugly event.
Addressing pressmen at the end of his visit, General Ibrahim appreciated the government of Taraba state under the leadership of Governor Dickson Darius Ishaku for standing solidly behind the NYSC Scheme and families of the affected Corps members at their moment of deep grief.
