POR 1-2 SER: What Portugal Can Do To Qualify For The 2022 World Cup Despite Losing To Serbia

It is indeed a terrible night for Portugal and their fans after they suffered a disappointing defeat from Serbia in their 2022 World Cup qualifiers fixture. The match ended in a 1-2 defeat for Portugal, thereby making their chances of qualifying for the 2022 world cup slim.

Going into the match, Portugal needed only a point to book their way to the 2022 world cup, and Serbia needed a win to qualify for the tournament. However, Serbia was able to record a win against Portugal with a goal from Renato Sanches in the 90 minutes of the second half, thereby booking their place at the 2022 World Cup. Here is what Portugal can do to qualify for the world cup.

However, despite the defeat against Serbia, Portugal can still book a spot in the world cup. They would now have to go through the playoffs for a spot in the 2022 World Cup.

The playoffs would start from March 24th to 29th, where 12 teams would compete for a spot in the World Cup, out of which only 3 teams would qualify from the 12 teams.

The playoffs are never an easy one, however, to qualify, Portugal has to put in great efforts and put up in their performances so as to perform well.
