REVEALED: Barcelona set for N3.1bn deal for Nigerian striker

While they have Lionel Messi and the rest of the big names to count on for all the goals they want, Barcelona are already investing in the future of the club.

One of such investments already paying off and quite early for the Catalan giants is that on  Ansu Fati.

Fati became the youngest player in the history of La Liga to score and assist in the same match, at the age of 16 years and 318 days.

Now Barcelona have be linked with a possible move for a Nigerian-born German striker Karim Adeyemi.

Adeyemi was born in Munich, Germany to a Nigerian father and Romanian mother.

Now multiple reports across Spain including AS indicates that Barcelona are keen to sign the 17-year old. The Red Bull Salzburg attacker is a mission for Patrick Kluivert, who is betting big on the youngster.

The 17-year-old striker has scored five goals and four assists in nine games during the current league season

He could cost €8 million (N3.1bn) as Barcelona try to replenish their young attacking options after seeing the success of Ansu Fati this season.

Currently playing at FC Liefering, RB Salzburg’s feeder club, Adeyemi trains with Salzburg’s first team and also drops down to their youth team to play in the UEFA Youth League, where he has scored twice in two games.

Salzburg won’t make it easy on Barcelona, who signed him for €3.5 million in 2018.

Adeyemi is very much eligible to still play for Nigeria as he is yet to make his full international debut though he has turned out for the German youth teams.

Emmanuel Amuneke and Gbenga Okunowo are two Nigerians that have played for Barcelona in the time past while few years ago, Ezekiel Bassey made a loan move to the Catalan giants.

At the moment, Super Falcons captain Asisat Oshoala is playing for the Barcelona women team and she has been a big hit since crossing over from China.
